New player tryouts for the 2025 Ames Storm Season
Tryouts will be on July 25th, 30th, and August 8th and we will form teams in mid August for the 2025 season.
Tryouts will be at Hunziker
Please arrive at 5:45pm for check in, tryouts will be roughly 75 minutes long
Plan on it taking 75-90 minutes
Bring a glove, helmet, and bat if you have one
The tryouts are for next year's 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13 and 14U.

Ames Storm Baseball is a community baseball program that prepares kids who want to play High School baseball. It’s run by the Ames Youth Baseball organization and led by its volunteer board. Ames Youth Baseball aims to help build a positive baseball culture in our community by offering additional and more competitive opportunities to learn to love baseball and gain the skills needed to play in high school. The kids and families that choose to play Ames Storm are interested in playing above and beyond our rec program. They are looking for a more competitive development environment and a place to become a fundamentally sound player, focusing on keeping costs down and time commitment balanced for families. Open to all kids in the Ames community, Ames Storm works closely with the Ames High Baseball program.
Participating in Storm typically includes:
Winter Workouts: January - February
Spring League Tournament: April weekends
Various Tournaments: June - July (typically five tournaments no further than Des Moines)
