What equipment is needed to play baseball?

Just a glove is mandatory. A protective cup and cleats are nice to have, particularly as the kids get older. Some families also tend to purchase their own bats and helmets as they get older. Each team is provided with a selection of bats and helmets for use by all team members. Each player receives a jersey and hat as part of their registration.

How are teams chosen?

Tball teams are manually organized to try and keep kids from the same school/area together so they start with friends on the team. Minors and Majors have a evaluation night where each kids skill levels are recorded. This is used to construct teams of equal player skills and abilities. We use a "snake draft" to help facilitate this process and promote even distribution of skills.
